Global Temperature has increased and stabilized at around 8°C more than year 0 (IPCC). This causes the sea level to rise 80 metres. 97% of marine life dies off and 90% of species on earth are extinct, while humans and other species have moved to the poles. The human population has drastically decreased to 3 billion.

Human Inhabitance

The north and south poles now have weather like a tropical rainforest, while 90% of life on earth lives there. Humans have continued to explore space and a fraction of the population have moved to Mars. However, to the shortage of space, food, water, and oxygen, together with multiple diseases and natural disasters, the human population has decreased to 3 billion, less than a third of year 0.

 

Ideas of countries no longer exist, and there are only 3 institutions ruling the world, the [EleAlliance] from the silicon-based lives with high intelligence (Robots with AI), the [HomoAlliance] from the united humans (pure humans), and the [BioAlliance] from another branch of humans and AIs that decided to merge their genes with other species on earth. The silicon-based life institution is based on Mars, while the other 2 mainly occupy either pole of the Earth.

Language

English language and Chinese language remains to be the popular languages on earth due to the surviving mass population speaking either, but have evolved. The silicon-based lives mostly adopted the new English, a combination of the English alphabet with numbers, forming a new coding language. The BioAlliance use a language evolved from pictogram, closer to traditional Chinese. The HomoAlliance use both while having a variety of other languages remained. Many European, Middle East, South-East Asian, and African languages become minority languages and only exist in computer records.

 

Technology

AI and robotics have become dominant in human lives. AI become recognized ethically as another species than humans. Most work in nature is handed over to AI and robots, while pure humans mainly stay indoors in the very controlled environment due to their lack of adaptability. Due to evolving biotechnology, a branch of humans has decided to merge their genes with other species or change their body parts to mechanical ones in order to adapt to the environment. Therefore, this branch of humans still lives outdoors.
